Chashawna Wesby-Hankerson, known as "Passionate" and "Penmagician," is a dynamic creative force making waves in the world of writing, music, and theater. As a creative writer, speaker, and motivator, Chashawna has dedicated her life to empowering others and showcasing the beauty of resilience and creativity through her brand, Writing Women Work. Chashawna's journey as a creator began in the small town of Butler, Georgia, where she was born on May 22, 1982. Overcoming her humble beginnings, she embarked on a remarkable journey to become an acclaimed soul, pop, and poetic singer-songwriter and guitarist.


Her path to success was paved with numerous accolades and achievements, including winning Augusta IDOL R&B in 2005, CSRA's Best Spoken Word Poet in 2010, and opening for renowned artists such as Chrisette Michele, Mary Mary, Marsha Ambrosius, and Melanie Fiona on the BET Music Matters Tour.


Chashawna's debut project, "The Journey-Love, God, and Relationships," released in 2010 under the management of Rodney Tillman, opened significant doors for her career. This was followed by her community hit "Stronger" in 2013, which garnered widespread attention and was retweeted by Bishop TD Jakes and supported by Grammy Award winner Delious Kennedy. Beyond her music career, Chashawna has made significant contributions to theater and film. Since 2006, she has been involved in various theatrical productions and web series, collaborating with producers and directors in Augusta, Georgia. Her impressive body of work includes short films, web series, and her own theatrical events, such as "The Wonderful World of Passionate," "The Heathen and the Saint," "Shooting Stars," and "Amari."


Chashawna's commitment to her craft and her community has earned her numerous accolades, including Victory Productions Best Song in 2007, Undisputed Queens of the AUG in 2008, and multiple features in prominent publications and award nominations. Despite her success, Chashawna remains grounded and focused on helping others achieve their dreams.
